Question from Allenda G.: I have several blogs and websites that I visit every day to see if any new posts or articles have been published.
It’s really time-consuming to visit every one of them every day only to find that just a couple of them have added something new.
Is there some way to set up an alert that will let me know when a site has been updated?
My computer is an ASUS laptop with Window 10.
Rick’s answer: I have several sites that I follow as well Allenda, and I’ve found a solution that works quite well for me.
I use a fantastic browser extension called Distill Web Monitor that sends me an email every time one of the sites I’m following publishes an update of some kind.
It’s very easy to install and configure, and it works like a charm!
Once the extension is installed you simply enter the URLs of the pages and the feed URLs of the blogs you want to monitor.
Then when one of those monitored sites is updated you’ll receive either an SMS text message, an email or a Push Notification (depending on which you opted to receive) letting you know about the update.
If you use Google’s Chrome browser you can install Distill Web Monitor from this page.
If you use Firefox you can get it right here.
If you use an iPhone or iPad, click here.
If you’re an Android user I’m afraid you’ll have to wait a while because the Distill Web Monitor Android app is still undergoing beta testing.
