Question from Christine: I have a Facebook page where I post about women’s issues and my posts get a lot of comments left on them.
Here lately I’ve noticed that the “Most Relevant” comments are displayed first.
I don’t like that because I prefer seeing the comments in order.
Is there some way to turn “Most Relevant” off and always show the “Most Recent” comments by default?
Rick’s answer: This is one of those changes that Facebook makes on occasion that makes me just shake my head and wonder what they were thinking.
The “feature” you’re talking about is called Comment Ranking, and I find it just as irritating as you do.
Luckily, it’s very easy to disable it and have the most recent comments displayed by default. Just follow the steps below:
Note: You’ll need to be an Admin for the page in order to make these changes.
1 – Log into your Facebook account and visit the page in question.
2 – Click the Settings link located near the top of the page under the blue bar.
3 – Scroll down and click Comment Ranking.
4 – Uncheck the box beside See most relevant comments by default.
5 – Click Save Changes.
That’s all there is to it. Facebook should now show the most recent comments left on your page’s posts first instead of just the ones that Facebook deem to be “most relevant”.
Update from Christine: Thanks so much! That was driving me nuts!
