Do you receive a lot of packages via UPS, FedEx or the U.S. Postal Service?
If so you’re no doubt familiar with the process of tracking your packages via the handy tools on those carriers’ respective websites.
It’s actually pretty easy to track a package: Simply visit the shipping company’s website and type (or copy and paste) the tracking number into the form on the tracking page.
But what if the person shipping the item to you didn’t mention how it was shipped?
Well, you could always visit each shipping company’s website and enter the tracking number to see if they’re the ones delivering the item. But that can be time consuming, especially if you try the correct website last.
Luckily, there is a much faster and easier way: Simply type the tracking number into Google!
All you have to do is visit www.google.com and type (or copy & paste) your package’s tracking number into the search box and you’ll immediately be provided with the link to your item’s tracking page on the carrier’s website.
And if Google is your default search engine, all you have to do is paste the tracking number into your browser’s address bar! What could be simpler than that?
If the tracking number happens to fit the format used by more than one company you’ll be provided with a list of links to try.
Click the first link and you’ll find out immediately if that is the correct carrier. If not, simply return to the Google page try the rest of the links until you find the right one.
Even if you choose the correct link last, the process will only take a few seconds since you only have to enter the tracking number one time.
Bottom line: Gone are the days of trying to remember which carrier is delivering your package or typing the tracking number into as many as three websites to get the tracking information.
Keep tabs on the whereabouts of your package the easy way by plugging the tracking number into Google!
