Question from Bill: I have DSL Internet through our local landline telephone company and it seems to be getting slower every day.
I just bought a new desktop computer that has both a wired Ethernet port and a wireless WiFi card in it. That got me to thinking.

Question from Bill: I was reading the manual that came with my new IP camera and it referred to both public IP addresses and private IP addresses.
I got the camera working just fine but now I’m curious about the difference between public and private IP addresses.

Question from Jamey: Hi Rick. I hope you can answer a question for me.
I get my Internet from my telephone company and it’s really slow. Well, at least a lot slower than it should be.
I’m supposed to be getting 100 Megs for downloads but according to SpeedTest.net it’s only about 2 Megs even with my desktop computer connected directly to the modem.
Nothing else is connected at all to the Internet at all, not even with WiFi.
I have already power-cycled the modem to make sure that isn’t what’s causing the problem.
I read your post about powerline networking adapters and I was wondering if using one of them instead of an Ethernet cable would make my Internet any faster.
I’ll really appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks!

Does your Windows PC keep disconnecting from the Internet at random times?
Or perhaps your web browser frequently slows to a crawl or completely freezes up even though it appears that you still have a normal connection?
Or maybe you just get the feeling that your Internet or local network connection just isn’t working as well as it should?
