Today’s quick tech tip….
Q&A: How do I remove a label I created in Gmail?
Question from Janice: I created a new label in Gmail and immediately noticed that I had misspelled it.
I created another new label with the correct spelling but I can’t figure out how to delete the incorrect one.
Can you tell me how to do it?
Rick’s answer: Janice, you can easily remove the incorrectly spelled label from your Gmail account but you’ll have to do it using a computer.
For whatever reason Google doesn’t provide a way to remove a label using the Gmail mobile app.
Just follow the instructions below and that “bad” label will be gone in no time.
1 – Open Gmail in a web browser on a laptop or desktop computer and sign in to your account.
2- Hover your mouse pointer over the label you want to remove until three dots pop up over on the right.
3 – Click those three dots.
4 – Select Remove label from the drop-down menu, then click the blue Delete button after it pops up.
That’s all there is to it. That pesky misspelled label should no be gone from your Gmail account.
