Today’s quick tech tip….
Q&A: How do I put a ‘Hard Disk’ icon on my Mac’s Desktop?
Question from Janet: I was at my sister’s house last night and saw that she has an icon for the hard disk on her Mac’s Desktop screen.
I would love to have one on my MacBook’s desktop too but I don’t know how to put it there. I asked my sister and she said she doesn’t know because her ex put it on hers.
How do I get that hard disk icon on my MacBook’s Desktop?
Rick’s answer: You’re in luck, Janet. It’s actually pretty easy to add that icon to a Mac’s Desktop screen. Here’s how:
1 – Press the Command+Space Bar key combination, then type the word finder.
2 – Select Finder from the menu bar, then click Preferences.
3 – Select the General tab, then check the box beside Hard disks.
That’s all there is to it, Janet. You should now have a ‘Hard Disks’ icon on your MacBook’s Desktop.
