Today’s quick tech tip….
How to use your smartphone as a FAX machine
If you’re old enough to have been around in the late 1900s and early 2000s you probably remember how everyone was using FAX machines to send copies of documents to distant recipients over the telephone lines.
Well, believe it or not, lots of companies are still using FAX machines today. And chances are you’ll be asked to FAX something to one of them at some point.
But don’t worry, when that happens you won’t have to run out and buy a FAX machine.
If you own a smartphone you already have all the hardware you’ll need in order to send and receive FAXes. All you have to do is install a FAX app.
There are several FAX apps available in both the Apple and Google Play app stores. While some of them are free, unfortuantely the best ones aren’t unless you want to just send an occasionaly one-page FAX.
In my humble opinion, Simple Fax is the best FAX app for Android smartphones and tablets.
Have an iPhone or iPad? I recommend that you check out SimpleFax (yep – same name, but different app).
