Today’s Quick Tip….
How to quickly find most anything on your Windows PC
There a probably a million and one different files, photos, programs, apps and settings available to you on your Windows 10/11 PC.
But do you know how to find what you need without having to follow every menu or check every folder on your hard drive?
As luck would have it, there’s a very simple way to quickly find what you’re looking for in most situations: Just search for it.
Want to quickly launch the Control Panel? Click the Start button and start typing the words Control Panel. Then click on Control Panel when it appears in the search results.
Want to find a specific file? Just click the Start button and then type the filename.
This doesn’t work 100% of the time, but it’ll work in the vast majority of cases.
It’s always worth a try, especially if you don’t know exactly how to navigate to the item you’re needing to access.

Rick’s Daily Pick…
GL-MT1300 Secure Travel Gigabit AC Wireless Router (#ad)
Did you know it can be risky using the WiFi network that’s supplied by your hotel?
It really can be, especially if the network is open and unencrypted or if you’re unable to determine which WiFi network is actually supplied by the hotel.
There’s a very simple way to eliminate that worry in most situations, however. You can simply take your own private WiFi network along with you as you travel!
Most hotels still provide a wired Ethernet connection in their rooms in addition their WiFi networks. If you find yourself in a room that only has a wired connection you can connect your router to the hotel’s network via an Ethernet cable and then set up your own private WiFi network.
If your room is only served by WiFi you can use this router in Repeater mode to create your own private (and secure) WiFi network that piggyback’s off the hotel’s WiFi network.
There are actually a couple of other connection options as well, but the two described above should suffice in the vast majority of situations.
