Today’s quick tech tip….
Why you REALLY need to remember your Apple ID and password
It seems like at least once a week I receive a frantic message from someone asking for help with unlocking an “Activation Locked” Apple device.
And guess what? Most of the time I can’t help them because they’ve already tried all the methods Apple provides for regaining access to a device that’s being protected by Activation Lock.
In a nutshell, if you’re unable to remember or reset your Apple ID password for whatever reason, you’re going to find it extremely difficult (and likely impossible) to remove the Activation Lock and regain access to the device.
That’s why you need to make sure you never forget your Apple ID and password or the email address that’s associated with your device(s).
If you have trouble getting back into an Activation Locked device, I’ll gladly try my best to help. All you have to do is ask.
Just be aware that if you’ve already tried every tool Apple provides that’s probably going to be the end of the line.
