Today’s Quick Tip….
Well, we now know that Windows 11 will be here soon, but will you be able to install and run it on your particular PC?
Microsoft is offering two ways to find out via their website:
1 – Check your system’s specs against Microsoft’s list of Windows 11 hardware requirements on this page.
2 – Download Microsoft’s PC Health Check App onto your PC and run it.
Now, I need to say this…
FYI: I have run the PC Health Check App on several systems that obviously meet (and in some cases greatly exceed) Microsoft’s stated hardware requirements for Windows 11 only to have the app report those systems as being unable to run Windows 11.
That’s is an obvious “false negative” on those systems.
For that reason I recommend that you not put too much stock in the test results you get from the app, especially if it says your system isn’t capable of running Windows 11.
If your system receives a negative result (i.e. the app reports that Windows 11 won’t run it) but you know it meets or exceeds the stated hardware requirements, I recommend that you first make a backup of your PC’s hard drive or SSD and then download the Windows 11 ISO after it becomes available and give it a try.
I have a feeling the PC Health Check App is providing bad info on a wide scale. Just sayin’.
