Q&A: How do I cancel my Zoom subscription?

Posted on June 4, 2021

Question from Kendall:  A few days ago I read your warning about how the login credentials for thousands of Zoom accounts are actively being sold on the dark web.

I wish I had found out about this before I signed up for a paid subscription. Better late than never (I hope!).

I’m sort of in a panic right now because Zoom – and possibly the hackers – has my debit card information.

I’d like to cancel my Zoom subscription but I can’t find a way to do it.

Can you tell me how to cancel it (or at least give me the link to the page where I do it)?

Q&A: How can WordPress afford to let bloggers use their software for free?

Posted on June 3, 2021

Question from Harry B.:  Maybe you can answer a question for me Rick. I’ve been wondering about it for a long time.

About three years ago I paid to have a website built for me, and the lady built it using WordPress.

In all this time I’ve never been asked to pay anything to keep using the WordPress program.

I was just wondering how they make their money since they let us use their software for free? I’ve never seen them place any ads on my blog.

Q&A: Windows always uses the same drive letter for every flash drive I plug in. Can that cause a problem?

Posted on June 3, 2021

Question from Kendra:  I have three USB flash drives that I use to store various files that I use from time to time.

I’ve noticed that when I remove a flash drive and plug in a different one Windows uses the same drive letter (D:) for that drive that it was using for the previous drive.

Can that cause a problem? [Read more…]

Q&A: Can I connect an ancient parallel printer to my new laptop?

Note: The links in this post are affiliate links.

Question from Keith: I went to an estate sale the other day and they had an old Epson MX-100 printer they were going to auction off.

Due mainly to nostalgia (my very first printer was an MX-100) I bid on it and ended up buying it.

I didn’t really expect it to work since it’s so old but when I plugged it in it ran the self test just fine.

Now I could use some help if you don’t mind. [Read more…]

Q&A: Is the DealDash auction site a scam?

Question from Tammy:  I’ve been seeing a lot of commercials for the auction site DealDash lately.

They sure make it sound tempting but it seems to me like it has to be too good to be true.

I’d like to know your opinion about it. I’ve had pretty good luck on Ebay but the great deals mentioned in the DealDash commercials have me intrigued.

So my question is do you think DealDash is a scam or can you really get great deals on there?
