Today’s quick tech tip….
Try this if a website won’t load (and you know it’s up)
Have you ever tried to load a website in your browser only to have it refuse to load, even though you knew the site was online?
The next time that happens to you, try flushing your computer’s DNS cache.
Note: I won’t go into what the DNS cache is (and does) here, but if you’re interested you’ll find a thorough explanation right here.
For now, suffice it to say an issue with one or more of the stored DNS entries in your computer’s DNS cache can prevent affected websites from loading in a browser.
Luckily, it’s very easy to flush the DNS cache on both Windows PCs and Macs. Just follow the steps below:
If you have a Windows PC:
1 – Click on the Start button to display the Start menu, then type the letters cmd.
2 – Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
3 -Answer Yes in response to the “User Account Control” dialog.
4 – Copy and paste the following at the command prompt (right after the > character):
ipconfig /flushdns
5 – Press the Enter key.
6 – Restart your PC.
If you have a Mac:
The procedure for flushing the DNS cache on a Mac varies depending on which version of macOS is running on the machine.
You’ll find step-by-step instructions for your Mac’s installed version of macOS right here.

Rick’s Daily Pick…
APPS2Car Solid Cup Holder Phone Mount (#ad)
Turn your car’s cup holder into a phone holder.
This one works similar to the one you’re always seeing advertised on TV, only better (I think so anyway).
And guess what? It’s only about half the price!
Today’s post from ‘My Daily Smile’…
Q&A: Why is house wiring made out of copper when aluminum is a lot cheaper?
There is actually a very good reason: Safety.
Tech news that caught my eye…
• These 400 apps might have stolen Facebook usernames and passwords
• US issues sweeping restrictions on chip sales to China
• Twitter Edit button rolls out for US subscribers
• Linux kernel 5.19.12 code could cause permanent damage to some laptop displays
• This devious malware is able to disable your antivirus
