Today’s Quick Tip….
Tip for connecting a MacBook Pro via wired Ethernet instead of WiFi
Note: Today’s ‘Quick Tip’ was submitted by Carol, a long-time subscriber to this newsletter.
Here’s a tip for Apple MacBook Pro users who connect their MacBook Pro laptops to their router/gateway with an Ethernet cable instead of via WiFi.
In order to connect the Ethernet cable to the laptop, you have to use a Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter.
What often happens, though, is that after a short time the Internet disconnects, and no matter what you do, you cannot get it back online.
After a year of frustration I found a simple solution…
Each time you want to connect to the Internet using the adapter, remove the Ethernet cable from the adapter and then reinsert it. Then connect to the laptop. No more issues!
