My Monthly Tech Giveaway is back!
Long-time subscribers to my daily Rick’s Tech Tips Newsletter will remember that I used to feature a monthly Tech Gadget Giveaway that all active subscribers were eligible to win.
I ended up having to suspend that giveaway due to the onset of the Covid pandemic, but now is the time to bring it back – better than ever.
The prizes featured in the new giveaway will include a combination of items I received for testing and review and brand new items that will provided directly by partner companies.
Winners will be selected at random. All Standard subscribers have an equal chance to win. All Premium subscribers have two chances (their email addresses are added to the pot twice).
November’s winner will receive a Brother DCPL2550DW Multifunction Monochrome Laser Printer, Scanner and Copier. Click here for details.

Today’s featured tech tip….
How to skip the Recycle Bin/Trash Can when deleting a file
Do you ever find yourself wanting to delete a file outright without it going into the Recycle Bin (Windows) or the Trash Can (Mac)?
There are times when it’s best to simply skip the Recycle Bin or Trash Can and deep-six a file once and for all.
Luckily, this is very easy to do…
If you have a Windows PC simply select the file you want to delete and then hold the Shift key while pressing the Delete key.
Have a Mac instead? Just select the file you wish to delete and then press the Command, Option and Delete keys simultaneously.

Rick’s Daily Pick…
Trueque Wireless Backlit Keyboard and Mouse Combo
I love wireless keyboards and mice and I feature them on my blog fairly often, but I have never featured a wireless keyboard that’s backlit.
Several folks have asked me to recommend one and I finally found one that I really like and feel comfortable recommending. This is it.
Today’s post from ‘My Daily Smile’…
Video: Watch these fascinating car shredders and crushers at work
Fascinating.
