Monthly Tech Giveaway….
Long-time subscribers to my daily Rick’s Tech Tips Newsletter will remember that I used to feature a monthly Tech Gadget Giveaway that all active subscribers were eligible to win.
I ended up having to suspend that giveaway due to the onset of the Covid pandemic, but now is the time to bring it back – better than ever.
The prizes featured in the new giveaway will include a combination of items I received for testing and review and brand new items that will provided directly by partner companies.
Winners will be selected at random. All Standard subscribers have an equal chance to win. All Premium subscribers have two chances (their email addresses are added to the pot twice).
November’s winner will receive a Brother DCPL2550DW Multifunction Monochrome Laser Printer, Scanner and Copier. Click here for details.

Today’s featured tech tip….
How to pin frequently used Windows apps to the Start menu
Do you have one or more favorite apps that you find yourself opening over and over again?
If so, you can easily “pin” those apps to the top of the Start menu so you can quickly open them without having to scroll through the entire apps list every time.
All you have to do is find an app you’d like to pin to the Start menu, then right-click on it and click Pin to Start.
Repeat for each of the remaining apps you’d like to pin.
That’s all there is to it. From now on those pinned apps will be available immediately after you open the Start menu.
Bonus tip: Want even faster access? Try this…
Instead of selecting “Pin to Start”, click More>Pin to Taskbar and you won’t even have to open the Start menu in order to launch the app. You’ll find its icon right on the Taskbar.
