Today’s Quick Tip….
Force Firefox to warn you when you’re about to close multiple tabs
If you use Mozilla’s Firefox browser you’ve probably noticed that it no longer warns you when you’re about to close multiple tabs at once.
Personally, I find that warning annoying so I’ve always kept it disabled, but I know lots of folks like being warned just in case the impending closure of multiple tabs wasn’t intentional.
If you happen to like receiving that warning you can get it back. Just follow the steps below:
1 – Open your Firefox browser.
2 – Copy and paste the following into the address bar and then press the Enter key:
about:config
You should now see a warning message followed by a blue button that you can click and accept the risk detailed in the message.
3 – Click the blue button to accept the risk and continue.
4 – Copy and paste the following into the search box at the top of the window:
browser.tabs.warnOnClose
You should now see that option displayed on the screen.
5 – Click the icon on the far-right side of that line to toggle the “WarnOnClose” setting to True.
That’s all there is to it. From now on Firefox will warn you when an action you’re about to take will result in the closure of multiple tabs.
