Hello again. I hope you had a great week!
Facebook has risen from its humble beginnings in Mark Zuckerberg’s college dorm room to become one of the most powerful and most-used entities on the Internet.
For example, did you know that Facebook now has over 2 billion registered users? That’s an astounding number considering there are only about 7.5 billion people living on the entire planet!
Even more astounding to me is how the folks at Facebook keep the site up and running as smoothly as they do given the mind-boggling number of people who are actively using the site at any moment in time.
Consider this: There isn’t a single second in the day when there aren’t hundreds of millions of users scrolling through their newfeeds, uploading photos, posting status reports, chatting with friends or performing some other activity on Facebook.
And except for the occasional glitch (which can be quite irritating when they occur) the site is fast and responsive and works as it should whenever we log on.
Of course things aren’t perfect in the world of Facebook. There are the aforementioned glitches, and we all have our favorite pet peeves about the way some of the site’s features work. But by and large, most users tend to consider the Facebook experience to be a positive one.
I’m always researching ways to make the Facebook experience even better, and when I find one I write a new blog post about it. Here are just a few of my personal favorites:
1 – Why you should always ‘Like’ your own Facebook posts
2 – How to protect your Facebook account from hackers
3 – How to enable Two Factor Authentication on Facebook
4 – How to block all Game Requests and App Notifications on Facebook
5 – How to link to a specific Facebook post
6 – How to bookmark an individual post on Facebook
7 – Why there’s no such thing as privacy on Facebook
8 – How to ‘Memorialize’ a deceased loved one’s Facebook account
9 – How to disable auto-playing videos on Facebook
Bonus tip: Perhaps the most useful Facebook-related posts of all are the ones that explain how to avoid the many Facebook scams and hoaxes that are always circulating through the Facebook community. Click here to check them out!
