Hello everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic week!
I want to thank each and every one of you who responded to my request for feedback in last week’s newsletter. I received a total of 1,152 responses!
I tried my best to reply to each and every respondent, but I apologize if I happened to miss anyone. Again, thank you all so much!
This week I’d like to let you know what I learned from all of that wonderful feedback. I’ll list each question that was asked followed by what turned out to be the “consensus” answer.
1 – What is your overall impression of the RicksDailyTips Newsletter? You can answer any way you want to, whether it be an entire paragraph, a singe sentence or even a single adjective.
To my delight, the one-word answer I received the most was “informative”. The gist of most of the remaining responses was that most of you find the tips easy to follow and understand. That has always been my goal, and it always will be.
2 – What changes (if any) would you like to see me make to the newsletter?
There were a handful of exceptions but most of you said you like it pretty much the way it is and you wouldn’t suggest making any changes at all.
3 – How do you feel about the length of the newsletter? Do you think it’s usually too long, too short or about right?
The answers to this one varied quite a bit. Approximately 60% said you feel that the length of the newsletters is usually about right. The remaining answers varied from “too short” to “a bit too long” to “it depends on the topic”. I guess that means it would probably be best to try to keep them around the current length for now.
4 – Would you prefer reading long, in-depth messages each week or just something short and to the point that you can quickly read and get on with your day?
Many of you said you like how I give you a broad overview of the various aspects of a topic and then provide links to more detailed information for those who want to read more. I like this approach myself because it allows me to cover every aspect of a topic without sending you a 10,000 word email.
5 – What are your feelings about the frequency of the newsletter? Should I keep sending out one longer, in-depth email per week or would you prefer two or three shorter emails – say on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday?
The results here were pretty much what I expected. The overwhelming majority (approximately 80%) would prefer to keep receiving one longer newsletter each week instead of two or more shorter ones. In fact, several people told me they would unsubscribe if I started sending more than one.
Bottom line: After reading all of your thoughtful responses and pondering them for a few days, I believe the best course of action is to keep the format, length and frequency of the newsletter emails about the same as they have been in the past.
Once again, here’s a huge “Thank You!” to everyone who took a few minutes out of your busy day to respond to my informal survey. I truly appreciate it very much!
