Today’s quick tech tip….
Q&A: How do I reverse the mouse buttons in Windows 11?
Question from Denise: Someone broke into my house a few weeks ago and stole my laptop and I ended up replacing it with a new one that has Windows 11 on it.
I’m left handed and on the old laptop the mouse buttons were reversed to make it easier for me to use the mouse. In other words, I “right-clicked” with the left mouse button and “regular clicked” with the right button.
How can I reverse the mouse buttons on this laptop so they’ll work that same way?
Rick’s answer: Denise, It’s actually pretty easy to reverse the mouse buttons on a Windows 11 PC if you know where to look for the setting. Just follow the steps below:
1 – Right-Click on the Start button, then select Settings from the menu.
2 – In the left-hand pane, click Bluetooth and devices.
3 – In the right-hand pane, click Mouse.
4 – Again in the right-hand pane, change the “Primary mouse button” setting to Right.
That’s all there is to it. From now on you’ll press the button on the right to “regular click” and the button on the left to “right-click” just like you did with the old PC.
