Today’s featured tech tip….
Did you know there are alternatives to the Facebook app?
If you use Facebook on your phone you probably use the ultra-popular Facebook mobile app.
Well, here’s a bit of info that you might find useful: The official Facebook app is a major resource hog.
If your phone’s battery tends to die sooner than you think it should, frequent use of the Facebook app could well be one of the primary reasons for its premature demise.
And here’s something else you should know: The Facebook app is also quite intrusive of your privacy if left set to its default settings.
But guess what? There are several third-party Android apps that will let you use Facebook on your Android device without all the downsides that come with using the actual Facebook app.
If the thought of switching to one of those leaner and less intrusive third-party apps sounds enticing, you can read more about them in this excellent article from our friends at Android Authority.
Note: I have yet to find a really good third-party alternative to the Facebook app for iOS devices. If you know of one feel free to reply to this email and tell me about it. Thanks a bunch.
