Today’s featured tech tip….
Think you’re stuck with poor Internet service?
If you live in an urban area you probably have multiple Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to choose from for your high speed Internet service.
However, if you happen to live in a rural area you might well have only one choice: slow, unreliable and severely limited satellite Internet.
But luckily, that’s beginning to change.
Many rural areas are now getting some actual competition in the Internet market, and I expect that to accelerate quickly thanks to new government initiatives for providing broadband Internet service for those who live in “Internet deserts”.
Truth be told, there could already be at least one new ISP serving your area without you even knowing they’ve arrived.
Check around by talking to your neighbors and calling your county government offices. You just might be pleasantly surprised by what you learn from those contacts.
If you find you’re still stuck in an Internet desert for the time being, don’t despair…
Starlink could well be a viable option right now.
