Today’s quick tech tip….
How to block emails from a specific sender in Gmail
Do you receive emails from someone that you really don’t want to hear from?
Well, there’s an easy way to force Gmail to automatically delete every email you receive from a specific email address…
All you have to do is set up a simple filter. Here’s how:
Note: Since the Gmail mobile app doesn’t provide a tool for creating filters, you’ll need to perform the following procedure on a laptop or desktop computer. Once the filter is active it will work in the Gmail app on your mobile devices too.
1 – Open Gmail in a browser and sign in to your account.
2 – Click the Search Options icon (it’s the icon located on the far-right side of the Search bar).
3 – Type (or copy and paste) the email address you want to banish from your Inbox into the From field.
4 – Click the Create filter link.
5 – Check the box beside Delete it, then click the Create filter button.
That’s all there is to it. From now on every email you receive from the filtered email address will bypass the Inbox completely and go directly into the Trash folder.
