How to prevent your iPhone’s screen from turning off automatically
If you have an iPhone you’ve surely noticed how the screen turns off automatically if you stop looking at it for a few seconds.
And if your experience is like mine, the screen probably has a tendency to blank at the most inconvenient times.
The feature that causes your iPhone to turn the screen off is called Auto-Lock, and it can be rather irritating. Personally, I prefer turning my phone’s screen off myself when I’m finished using the device.
You too can prevent your iPhone’s screen from automatically turning off if you’d like to do so. Here’s how to disable the Auto-Lock feature:
1 – Tap the “gear” shaped Settings icon.
2 – Tap Display & Brightness.
3 – Scroll down and tap Auto-Lock.
4 – Select Never.
Note: The default time for Auto-Lock to kick in is 30 seconds. You can extend that time up to 2 minutes if you’d rather not disable Auto-Lock altogether. Simply choose a new Auto-Lock time setting in step 4 above.
