Today’s Quick Tip….
Ever wonder why there are no Macs with touchscreens?
Some of the best-selling devices on the planet with touchscreens are Apple products, but you won’t find a touchscreen on any model of MacBook or Mac desktop machine.
Have you ever wondered why that is?
Well, the following quote from a recent interview (link is paywalled) with John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering tells us all we need to know:
“We make the world’s best touch computer on an iPad. It’s totally optimized for that. And the Mac is totally optimized for indirect input. We haven’t really felt a reason to change that.”
What he’s basically saying is if you want an Apple computer with a touchscreen, get yourself an iPad.
If you prefer using a keyboard and mouse, get a Mac.
Can’t get much simpler than that, right? Now you know.
