Question from Rhonda H.: I bought an Apple Magic Keyboard back in December, and I love it. But I have a problem that I can’t figure out.
I was told that this keyboard would wake up my Mac when it’s sleeping just by pressing a key, but I can’t get it to do that.
Can you tell me how to fix this so the keyboard will start waking up my Mac?
Rick’s answer: Rhonda, Apple’s Magic Keyboard (#ad) is a fantastic device, and I believe you’ll get lots of good use out of it.
You should be able to resolve the “waking” issue with a simple setting tweak. Give this a try:
1 – With your Mac powered up and running, click the Apple icon to open the Apple menu.
2 – Click System Preferences.
3 – Click Bluetooth.
4 – Click Advanced.
5 – Check he box beside Allow Bluetooth Devices to wake this computer.
I hope this helps Rhonda. If not, let me know and I’ll tell you what to try next. Good luck!
Update from Rhonda: That did it Rick. Thanks for your help!
