Today’s featured tech tip….
Q&A: What’s the Mac equivalent of Ctrl+Alt+Del?
Question from Stanley: I’m a long-time Windows user who recently bought a Mac for the first time.
I have a question that’s probably very easy to answer.
With Windows I could press Ctrl+Alt+Del and open the “Task Manager” when I needed to end a stuck process.
What’s the equivalent of Ctrl+Alt+Del on a Mac? I know it must have one.
Rick’s answer: You’re right, Stanley. Macs do indeed have a keyboard shortcut you can use to launch a tool for closing stuck apps.
Just press Cmd+Option+Esc to bring up the “Force Quit” dialog box.
You should now see all the running applications, with the option to forcefully terminate the one that’s frozen.
