Today’s featured tech tip….
How to retrieve a saved WiFi password from a Mac
I have written a few posts explaining how to retrieve a forgotten WiFi password from a Windows PC, and several folks have asked me if there’s a way to do the same thing with a Mac.
Well, the answer is yes, and it’s very easy to do. Here’s how:
1 – Open the “Spotlight Search” tool by pressing the Command+Space Bar key combination.
2 – Type the words keychain access into the Search box and press the Return key.
3 – In the left-hand column, click Passwords.
4 – Double-click on the name of the WiFi network you need to retrieve the password for. You should now see a small window on the screen containing the attributes (i.e. info) for that network.
5 – Check the box beside “Show Password” (and enter your Mac’s admin username and password if required) to reveal the WiFi password.
