Today’s featured tech tip….
How to block a problem sender in Gmail
Do you keep getting messages from a sender in Gmail that you’re really like to block?
Well, you can’t really block a problem sender’s emails outright, but Gmail lets you to “block” senders by directing their emails to the Spam folder instead of your Inbox.
If you’d like to give it a try, just follow the instructions below for the device you’re using.
If you use Gmail in a web browser on a laptop or desktop computer:
1 – Log into your Gmail account and open an email from a sender you’d like to block.
2 – Click the More icon (it’s the three dots over on the right, beside the date/time stamp).
3 – Click Block [sender’s name].
4 – Click Block.
This sender is now blocked.
Note: If you happen to block a sender by accident you can undo that action by clicking Unblock sender.
If you use the Gmail app on a mobile device:
1 – Log into your Gmail account and open an email from a sender you’d like to block.
2 – Tap the More icon (it’s the three dots on the far-right side of the Sender’s name field).
3 – Tap Block [sender’s name].
This sender is now blocked.
Note: If you happen to block a sender by accident you can undo that action by tapping Unblock sender.
That’s all there is to it. From now on that sender’s emails should skip your Inbox and go directly into the Spam folder.
Now, I must mention one caveat…
Blocking an email address in this way will definitely prevent messages from that address from landing in your Inbox.
However, many spammers and scammers have lists of thousands of email addresses they can cycle through to send out their emails.
That means you can block one of their addresses but still continue receiving emails from their other addresses. It’s a never-ending cycle of blocking and you’ll eventually start receiving a flood of spam messages that won’t stop regardless of what you do.
This is why it’s extremely important to do everything you can to prevent having your email address added to a spammer’s “active emails” list.
Once your email address is on such a list you’ll never be able to get it off. And the problem will just get worse over time because the original spammer will sell his list to other scammers.
Just a heads-up…

Want to add Bluetooth wireless connectivity to a Windows machine that isn’t already Bluetooth capable? This is definitely the easiest way to do it (and probably the cheapest way too).
Just plug this little gem into an empty USB port and you’ll be all set.
