Question from Cindy: Rick, I have several “followers” on Facebook and I’d rather they didn’t see some of my more “personal” photos.
I don’t mind followers reading my public posts, but I’d rather restrict access to certain pics to just my Facebook friends. Can I do that?
Rick’s answer: You sure can Cindy. Yes, it’s true that the people who “follow” you on Facebook can see all of your “Public” photos by default.
But that’s easy to fix by simply changing the privacy setting for each of the photos you wish to “hide” from your followers to “Friends”. Just follow the steps below for the device you’re using.
If you’re using Facebook in a web browser on a laptop or desktop computer:
1 – Log in to your Facebook account and open the first photo you wish to “hide” from your followers.
2 – Click the three dots icon that’s located to the right of the upload date, then tap Edit post audience.
3 – Select Friends from the drop-down menu.
4 – Click Done.
5 – Repeat the steps listed above for the rest of your “personal” photos.
If you’re using the Facebook app on a mobile device:
1 – Log in to your Facebook account and open the first photo you wish to “hide” from your followers.
2 – Tap the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the screen.
3 – Tap Edit post privacy.
4 – Tap Friends.
That’s all there is to it Cindy. This procedure will take care of all the “sensitive” photos that have already been uploaded to your Facebook albums, and you can easily change the privacy setting for each of your new photos as you upload them.
I hope this helps. Good luck!
Update from Cindy: This is exactly what I was looking for, Rick. Your instructions are always so clear and easy to follow. Thanks!!!
