Question from Paula: Hi, Rick. Thanks for all your hard work writing and sharing your tips. I’ve been reading your stuff for more years than either of us want to admit!
I’m wondering if you know of a way to do a Google search for things and have them leave pages from Pinterest out of the search results?
I do a lot of crafts, cooking, etc. and I sometimes get page after page of Pinterest posts that are of no help at all.
Is there a way to “remove” Pinterest from the Google search results? Thanks!
Rick’s answer: Hi, Paula. First of all, thanks so much for your kind words about my posts. I’m very glad you find them useful.
To answer your question, you can easily exclude Pinterest posts (or pages from any website for that matter) from your Google searches.
All you have to do is simply append -site:pinterest.com to the end of your search query.
For example, if you were searching for the term “paper crafts”, you would type this into the Google search box:
paper crafts -site:pinterest.com
That search would return pages that are about “paper crafts”, but no pages from the Pinterest website would be included in the search results.
I hope this helps, Paula. Good luck!
