Question from Darla P.: Hi Rick. I hope you’re doing well!
I’ve been reading your blog for a while now and I’ve used your great posts on enabling Two-Factor Authentication to enable it on several of my online accounts.
I’d really like to enable it on my Instagram account too, but I can’t find anything on your site that has instructions for doing it.
I occasionally use Instagram on my computer but I use it mostly on my mobile devices. Can you tell me how to enable Two-Factor Authentication for Instagram on my phone?
Rick’s answer: You’re right Darla. For some reason I never got around to adding a post that explains how to enable Two-Factor Authentication on Instagram. That’s a major oversight, and I apologize for it!
Luckily, it’s very easy to set it up using your phone. Just follow the steps listed below:
1 – Log into your Instagram account on your phone.
2 – Open the Settings screen.
3 – Scroll down and tap Two-Factor Authentication and then follow the prompts as they appear.
That’s all there is to it – you’re done!
From now on a security code from your phone will be required in order to log into your Instagram account. And since hackers won’t have access to your phone, they won’t be able to log into your account!
