Question from Marisol: Hi, Rick. Thanks for all the help you give us on here. I have a pressing problem and I need your help ASAP if you don’t mind.
I ordered an Epson printer from Amazon and I received it a couple of days ago. Long story short, it doesn’t work. Can you help me with the return?
The printer won’t even turn on at all. My nephew knows a lot about these things and he said the printer probably has a bad power supply.
I need to return it ASAP but I didn’t receive a receipt with it!!
I really need to get this printer returned before the time allowed runs out so I doubt if I’ll have time for them to mail me a duplicate receipt. Is there any way to print a duplicate receipt for an Amazon purchase?
Rick’s answer: I have great news for you, Marisol. You don’t need a paper receipt in order to return an item to Amazon.
You can quickly initiate the return process in just a few seconds right from your Amazon account. You’ll then be prompted to print a return slip that you’ll place in the box along with the printer.
Follow these steps to initiate an Amazon return:
1 – Log in to your Amazon account.
2 – Click the Returns & Orders link that’s beside the Shopping Cart icon in the top-right corner of the windows. You should now see a list of the items you have ordered from Amazon.
3 – Find the item you need to return (the Epson printer in this case) in the list of items and click the Return or Replace Items link.
4 – Follow the prompts and instructions on the pages that follow and you’ll have everything you need in order to return the printer in a jiffy.
That’s all you need to do to return the item to Amazon, Marisol. However, you can still print a copy of this order’s invoice if you want one. Here’s how:
1 – Repeat steps 2 and 3 above and find the Epson printer in the list.
2 – Click the View invoice link that located right below the Order #. You should now see the invoice for the Epson printer displayed on your screen.
3 – Click the Print this page for your records link that’s located near the top of the page.
By the way, it’s no secret that I absolutely love dealing with Amazon. That’s why I recommend so many of their products on my blogs. One of the main reasons I like them so much is because they make returning and exchanging products so easy!
I wish you the very best, Marisol. Good luck!
