These days laptops and mobile devices are outselling desktop computers by a wide margin, but there are still plenty of folks who prefer using a desktop machine for various reasons (myself included).
That’s why I still choose to check out and review desktops in addition to those more portable devices.
I recently had the opportunity to check out the new Dell Inspiron 3470 Desktop PC and I came away quite impressed.
In my humble opinion, this would be a fantastic machine for most anyone who doesn’t need a dedicated gaming PC.
Here’s a quick run-down of the specs:
- 9th Generation Intel Core i5-9400 CPU
- 12GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM
- 128GB Solid State Drive (SSD)
- 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive
- DVD-RW Optical Drive
- 802 11bgn Wireless Networking Adapter
- Bluetooth 4.0
- Intel UHD Graphics 630 with HDMI and VGA Outputs
- 5.1 Channel Waves MaxxAudio Pro Sound
- Dell Wired Keyboard and Mouse
- 6 USB Ports (4 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 3.0)
- Windows 10 Professional
- 2 Year On-Site Service
As you can see, the Dell 3470 has most everything any home or business user will need in a super-fast and powerful desktop computer, all packed neatly into a small, but attractive tower-style case.
Its blazing fast Core i5-9400 CPU partnered with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage makes this machine one of the fastest mid-range PCs you’re likely to find anywhere.
The inclusion of Windows 10 Pro pre-installed and a super-fast 1GB 7200 RPM hard drive for extra storage are huge pluses as well.
It would have been nice if Dell had included AC wireless capability as well as a wireless keyboard and mouse combo, but I consider this to be an outstanding machine overall.
And with over 100 overwhelmingly positive user ratings it appears that plenty of others agree with that assessment.
Bottom line: If you’re looking for a super-fast and powerful general-purpose desktop computer for your home or office, I believe this machine from Dell would be a great choice.
