Google releases 64 bit version of the Chrome web browser

Posted on August 28, 2014

chrome-os-logoGoogle has finally released a 64 bit version of their popular Chrome web browser, and after putting it through its paces it appears to be a lot faster and more stable than the 32 bit version that we’ve all been using for so long.

Let me tell you, this is one fast browser!

There are other enhancements in the new version as well, one of my favorites being much crisper text on high-DPI monitors. But the increases in speed and stability are by far the most important of all the enhancements.  [Read more…]

Apple admits some iPhone 5 batteries are defective. If yours is one of them, they’ll replace it for free.

Posted on August 23, 2014

iphone-5Apple has just announced that some iPhone 5 smart phones were shipped with defective batteries that won’t charge up correctly and lose their charge too quickly.

What’s more, the tiny secure card reader that Amazon will send you costs just $10 and you’ll even get that right back in the form of fee credits! The only other fee you’ll pay is a small “Swipe Fee” every time you swipe a customer’s credit or debit card.  [Read more…]

Do you own a Vizio TV? If so, it might have just been recalled.

Posted on August 12, 2014

vizio-tvTV maker Vizio has just announced a massive recall of almost a quarter of a million of their TV sets. The reason? They have a tendency to fall over, potentially crushing whatever they happen to fall on.

If you own a Vizio TV, take heed (especially if you happen to have small children or pets).

If your TV is an E390-B0, E390i-B0, or E420i-B0, you might have one of the recalled models. If so, I strongly recommend that you contact Vizio and arrange to have your TV repaired at no cost to you.  [Read more…]
