As you probably know, scammers are coming at you from every direction these days.

I try my best to keep everyone up-to-date on the latest scams that are making the rounds, and there’s a very dangerous recurring scam involving gift cards and debit cards that a lot of kind-hearted individuals are falling for yet again this year.

Q&A: Are these password-reset emails legit?

Question from Sue:  Yesterday I started getting emails from several websites that I mostly infrequently use or don’t use at all, such as Microsoft, Walmart, and Instagram.

But now I’ve received two more emails from two websites (AirBnB and eBay) that I DO use.

These emails were all in regard to resetting my password – either the password was already changed or a request to change it.

Scam alert: Beware this dangerous email related scam

As you probably know, responding to a fraudulent phishing email is an easy way to fall victim to a hacker and have your important online account(s) compromised.

The latest recurring phishing scheme to start making the rounds again is targeting AT&T customers.

Although the wording of the fraudulent emails vary a bit, they all warn you that if you don’t click the link in the email and “update your mailbox” your AT&T email account will be closed.
