Question from Colette: My daughter emailed me a really cute picture of my grandson while I was at work.
I saved the picture to my computer’s hard drive and then copied it onto a thumb drive.
I verified that the picture was on the thumb drive and then I deleted it from the computer (we’re not allowed to keep personal files on our work computers). [Read more…]

Question from Carla: I’m thinking about hiring someone to install some WiFi security cameras around my house.
The way I understand it they’ll communicate with my PC via my router’s WiFi connection.
What I’d like to know is will the cameras still work when my Internet connection is down?

My Internet is a lot slower than it should be. I’m supposed to be getting 200 Megs for downloads but according to SpeedTest.net it’s only about 6 Megs even with my desktop computer connected directly to the modem.
