Q&A: How do you hide mutual friends on Facebook?

Posted on February 23, 2024

Question from Ellen:  I read your post explaining how to hide my friends list from the public on Facebook.

I thought it was a good idea so I followed your instructions and hid mine, but I just found out that all of my friends can still see a list of the friends we have in common (i.e. our mutual friends).

Q&A: How long will a USB Flash Drive retain its data?

Posted on February 20, 2024

Now she wants me to get the files off her old hard drive for her, but I don’t have a desktop PC to install it in.

I read your post about converting a spare internal hard drive into an external USB hard drive, and it’s very informative. I

Q&A: Can I delete Gmail without deleting my entire Google account?

Posted on February 16, 2024

Question from Jennifer:  I read somewhere (I think it might have been on your blog) that it’s best to close unused email accounts to prevent hackers from taking them over and using them to spread spam.

I have a Gmail email address that I rarely use and I’d like to delete it. The thing is I do use a couple of other Googly things so I need to keep my Google account open.

Is it possible to close just the Gmail and keep the Google account open?  [Read more…]
