Posted on April 20, 2024

Question from Clara:  I’ve been cleaning the screens on my MacBook Pro and iPhone with a micro-fiber cloth covered with glass cleaner.

But last night I heard that I shouldn’t do that because the glass cleaner could damage the screen.

What’s the best way to clean these types of screens? [Read more…]

Q&A: Some sites no longer load in my browser. How do I fix it?

Posted on April 19, 2024

Question from Andy:  I need help with an Internet issue, Rick.

Several websites that used to load just fine won’t load anymore. They either just sit there and try to load forever or I get an error message.

The crazy thing is most websites still load ok. It’s just a handful of specific sites that won’t load.

Can you please help me fix this?

Q&A: Is it safe to share my Internet with a neighbor?

Question from Natasha:  A few days ago a guy rented the vacant apartment next door to mine. He moved in yesterday, and this morning me knocked on my door and introduced himself.

He also said that if I’d accept his offer he’d buy me a brand new $200 wireless router kit to replace my old router as long as I’d be willing to accept it in lieu of his portion of the monthly Internet charge.

This sounds like a pretty good deal to me because I really do need to upgrade my router, but I was wondering if you know of any reason why I shouldn’t accept his offer?  [Read more…]

Q&A: How can I see all the outstanding Friend Requests I’ve sent on Facebook?

Posted on April 15, 2024

Question from Javier:  Hi, Rick. You seem to know a lot about Facebook so maybe you can help me.

Is there a way to see all of the friend requests I’ve sent out that haven’t been responded to?

I’d like to send reminder messages to those people and ask them to accept my friend request.

Rick‘s answer:  Javier, I know how frustrating it is to send someone a friend request and never find out whether they have acted on it or not. [Read more…]
