A friend asked me the other day whether he should connect his computer to his router via WiFi or over a wired Ethernet connection.
My answer was…It depends.
First of all, is the computer in question sitting near the router or is it located in another room in the house?
If you have a Mac and your user account has administrator privileges, you’re able to access things and perform actions that aren’t available to users that don’t have admin accounts.
But even accounts with admin privileges are limited in the things they can access and do on a Mac.
However, there’s a special user account with the username “root” that you can use to access and make changes to any area of the file system that isn’t write-protected by your Mac’s System Integrity Protection system. [Read more…]

Question from Ray: I know that Microsoft Defender disables itself if it detects a second antivirus is running but that it’s supposed to automatically turn back on if you remove the other antivirus program.
Well I recently uninstalled McAfee expecting Windows Defender to turn back on, but it didn’t. I keep getting a message saying my computer is unprotected.
