Question from Wanda: For the past few mornings the birthday notifications have been missing from my Facebook Newsfeed.
The first thing I always do when I get on Facebook is wish all my birthday friends a happy birthday, but now I can’t.
It’s really frustrating.
Why am I no longer seeing the birthday notifications (and how can I get them back)?
Rick’s answer: I can certainly understand your frustration, Wanda.
I enjoy posting birthday greetings for my friends on Facebook as well.
The good news is Facebook hasn’t removed the birthday notifications. They simply removed the Newsfeed link to them. The reason why is anyone’s guess.
Luckily, it’s very easy to find your birthday list even without the Newsfeed link. Just follow the steps below for the device you use to access Facebook.
If you use Facebook in a web browser on a laptop or desktop computer:
1 – Log into your Facebook account and visit your Newsfeed page.
2 – Click the Events link over in the left-hand column.
3 – Click the Birthdays link.
If you use the Facebook app on a mobile device:
1 – Open the Facebook app and log in to your Facebook account.
2 – Tap the Menu icon (it looks like three horizontal lines stacked atop one another.
3 – Scroll down and tap Events.
4 – Tap Calendar.
5 – Tap on the line below today’s date to open the list of today’s birthdays.
Note: If you’d prefer to skip all that tapping you can simply tap on the magnifying glass at the top of the screen and then type the word birthdays. A link to the birthdays will pop right up!
That’s all there is to it. Now you know how to view today’s birthdays on Facebook without clicking a Newsfeed link!
The purpose of setting a birthday reminder is to remind everyone not to forget to send blessings on this day, or to wish oneself a happy birthday. To make every birthday unique, when setting a birthday reminder on Facebook, you can have Neon Signs Custom for the birthday in advance to celebrate the birthday! In addition to creating an atmosphere for the birthday party, neon signs can also convey blessings!
I hope this helps, Wanda. Good luck!
Update from Wanda: It did help, Rick. Thank you! I just wish Facebook would leave things alone!
Bonus tip: This post explains why you need to be careful about what personal info you make public on Facebook.
