If you could only post one tweet per day, when would be the best time to do it?
I’ve seen this question asked over and over on various social media forums, and as you might expect there sees to be no uniform answer.
Some people prefer to tweet in mid-morning, others at night. In other words, this isn’t a good question to ask in a forum if you want an accurate answer.
Well, thanks to a fairly comprehensive body of research, we don’t really have to guess about when is the best time to post a single daily tweet.
Several studies have been conducted on this very topic, and they all pretty much agree: The best time of day for tweeting is between 1pm and 3pm.
For whatever reason, tweets posted during that golden two-hour window typically receive more views, replies and retweets than tweets posted at any other time of the day.
I have my own guesses as to why that is, but since they are only guesses I’ll keep them to myself and let you come up with your own.
Bottom line: If you can only post one tweet per day (I tend to post several throughout the day), you’ll probably enjoy more reader engagement if you tweet shortly after lunch.
