Today’s Quick Tip….
How to place drive icons right on your Mac’s Desktop
If you have a Mac you probably know there are several ways to access your Mac’s internal and external drives, but did you know you can place icons for every connected drive right on the Desktop?
Well, you can, and it’s actually pretty easy to do. Here’s how:
1 – Click Finder on your Mac’s top Menu bar, then select Preferences.
2 – Select the General tab and locate the section labeled “Show these items on the desktop”.
3 – Place a check mark beside each category of storage devices that you’d like to display a Desktop icon for.
4 – Close the Finder “Preferences” dialog.
That’s all there is to it. You should now have an icon on the Desktop for every drive and external storage device that’s currently connected to your Mac.
If you happen to plug in a new storage device an icon for it will instantly appear. Likewise, if you remove a device its icon will immediately go away.
