Today’s featured tech tip….
How to bookmark a Facebook post with your Desktop browser
I often see friends post that they’re “sharing” a Facebook post so they’ll be able to find it on their Timeline at a later date.
Sharing a good post is great because it lets your friends enjoy the posts that you like or find useful, but it can be tedious and time-consuming to go back through your Timeline trying to find a post from days, weeks or even months or years past.
A better way to “save” a post that you’d like to return to later is to simply bookmark it in your Desktop browser the same way you bookmark web pages. That way finding a specific post later is as easy as clicking the link on your “Favorites” list.
Yes, I realize that Facebook provides a way to “save” posts directly inside your account, but bookmarking them the old fashioned way just works better for me.
If you’d prefer to do it the old fashioned way as well, here’s how:
1 – Find the post you’d like to bookmark and look for the date/time stamp.
The date/time stamp will typically look something like “10 minutes”, “August 6” or “Just now”.
Locate the date/time stamp and click on it. The post will open on a page all by itself.
2 – Bookmark that page just like you would any other web page.
That’s all there is to it. A bookmark for that specific post should now be on your browser’s Favorites list. To return to it in the future, simply click the link on your browser’s Favorites bar.
One caveat: This tip only works on the full Facebook site, not on the mobile version or the Facebook app.
