Today’s featured tech tip….
Q&A: How many subscribers open ALL of your emails?
Question from Jim: I guess some would say I’m obsessed, but I open every email you send me. I haven’t missed even one in the two years since I first signed up. Just wondering how many of us do that?
I know you probably keep stats showing how often people open your emails and I’m just curious about how many people open all of them. I know I can’t be the only one.
I don’t want to miss a single issue because I almost always find something in there that helps me in some way, even if it isn’t listed in the headline.
Rick’s answer: That’s a very interesting question, Jim. And truth be told, I had never really thought about it until you asked.
You’re right about me keeping a close eye on my newsletter stats, but only as a general overview. I’ve never really paid much attention to how many people take the time to open all of them.
With your question in mind, I did a deep dive into the stats this morning and discovered that approximately 38% of subscribers open virtually every email I send out.
I used the word virtually because there’s no way to determine whether they have ever missed one or two emails along the way. The best I can do is get a fairly accurate ball-park estimate.
It was pretty much a given that most subscribers don’t open every email, and I certainly don’t expect them to. After all, each of us have multiple things going on in our lives that compete for the limited amount of time we have available to us during our busy days.
And I certainly understand that there are countless things that are more important than reading a newsletter, including this one.
I’m just humbled, and so very appreciative that over 15,800 wonderful people find my newsletter worthy of whatever amount of time they are able to dedicate to reading it.
Now all of the above being said, I do recommend opening every email for at least a quick scan even if the two items mentioned in the headline don’t appear to be relevant (time permitting of course).
There simply isn’t enough room in the headline to mention every topic that’s covered in the emails. As you know, there are several sections, each of which just might contain something you might find useful and/or interesting.
Bottom line: If you’re reading this that means you took the time to sign up for my newsletter and you do read it, at least occasionally. Whether you read one issue per year or all 365, I appreciate it more than you can know.
Just out of curiosity, I’d love to hear from each and every subscriber just how often you open my emails . I’d also be very appreciative if you’d pass along any suggestions you might have for making this newsletter better.
If you’d like to opine simply reply to this email and send me your thoughts. Rest assured that I will read every reply I receive and carefully consider every suggestion.
Thanks a bunch for reading, everyone. And thanks for asking such an interesting question, Jim.

FANBLACK 7-Port PCIe to USB 3.2 Gen 2 Expansion Card
Want to add 7 blazing fast USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports to your desktop computer? You can if it has an open PCIe expansion slot (I recommend using a PCI x 16 slot if at all possible).
This is a great way to add several extra (and faster) USB ports to most any desktop computer.
