Today’s featured tech tip….
How to ‘Copy’ on one Apple device and ‘Paste’ it onto another one
Would you like to be able to “copy” something on one Apple device and “paste” it onto a different Apple device?
For example, let’s say you’re reading an article on your iPad or iPhone and you want to use a quote from that article in a blog post you’re writing on your Mac.
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to copy the desired text using your iPad or iPhone and then paste it directly into your blog post on the Mac?
Or perhaps you want to send the link to that article to an associate on LinkedIn but you don’t have the LinkedIn app on your iPhone.
Wouldn’t it be cool to be able to copy the link to your iPhone’s Clipboard and then paste it directly into a LinkedIn message on your Mac?
Or what if you want to copy something on your Mac and paste it on one your mobile devices?
Or perhaps copy on your iPhone and paste onto your iPad?
All of those things sound impossible, right? Well, those things are entirely possible (and very easy to do) thanks to a handy Apple feature called Universal Clipboard.
And guess what? You don’t need to install an app on any of your devices in order to use it.
The Universal Clipboard feature is already present on your Mac, iPhone and iPad. All you have to do is enable it on all of your Apple devices and you’ll be all set.
This page on the Apple website has all the details, including simple instructions for enabling Universal Clipboard on your devices and then using it to copy and paste between them.
