Today’s featured tech tip….
Make your Windows 11 PC more responsive with Efficiency Mode
Have you ever opened the Task Manager on your Windows PC and discovered that one or more processes were hogging tons of CPU resources, resulting in the machine running slower than it should?
If so, you probably either just decided to live with the sluggish performance until the problem process ran it’s course or chose to put it out of your misery by clicking “End task”.
Well, along with the 22H2 Windows 11 Update Microsoft released a new feature called “Efficiency Mode” that you can enable on a resource-hogging process.
In a nutshell, Efficiency Mode allows CPU hogging processes to keep running while forcing them to use fewer CPU clock cycles.
This is a vastly simplified explanation, but suffice it to say that enabling Efficiency Mode on problem processes can make your PC more responsive overall while still allowing those processes to keep chugging right along.
And as a bonus, it can also extend the life of a laptop’s battery charge by putting less stress on the CPU and other components.
Efficiency Mode can quickly and easily enabled on any running process via the Task Manager. If you’d like to check it out you’ll find a more detailed explanation of how it works along with instructions for enabling it on problem processes right here.
