Today’s featured tech tip….
How to disable auto-playing videos in the Facebook mobile app
Do you find it irritating every time a video starts playing automatically when it scrolls into view on your Facebook app?
Well, I do, especially when I’m checking Facebook in a place where silence is expected.
Luckily, it’s very easy to prevent videos from playing automatically simply by changing a setting in the app. Here’s how:
Note: The exact steps you’ll need to follow might vary just a bit depending on which version of the Facebook app you’re using. Therefore, I recommend that you use the steps below as a general guide…
1 – Tap the Menu icon (it looks like your tiny profile photo with three horizontal lines superimposed on it).
2 – Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy.
3 – Tap Settings.
4 – Scroll down and tap Media.
5 – Toggle the “Videos Start with Sound” setting to Off.
6 – Check the box beside Never Autoplay videos.
That’s all there is to it. From now on you’ll be able to browse your Facebook Newsfeed on your mobile device without having all those auto-playing videos distracting you.
