Today’s featured tech tip….
How to quickly find most anything on your Windows PC
There a probably a million and one different files, photos, programs, apps and settings available to you on your Windows 10/11 PC.
But do you know how to find what you need without having to follow every menu or check every folder on your hard drive?
As luck would have it, there’s a very simple way to quickly find what you’re looking for in most situations: Just search for it.
Want to quickly launch the Control Panel? Click the Start button and start typing the words Control Panel. Then click on Control Panel when it appears in the search results.
Want to find a specific file? Just click the Start button and then start typing the filename.
Likewise, if you want to change a mouse setting, simply click the Start button and then start typing the word mouse. The specific mouse setting you’re looking for will likely pop right up in the search results. If not, just click on the overall Mouse settings result and navigate to the specific setting you’re looking for from there.
This “search for it” technique doesn’t work 100% of the time, but it does work in the vast majority of cases.
It’s always worth a try, especially if you don’t know exactly how to navigate to the item you’re needing to access.
