Today’s featured tech tip….
Force Windows 11 to warn you before restarting to install updates
If you have a Windows 11 PC you might have noticed that unlike Windows 10, your Windows 11 installation won’t tell you when a restart is required to install pending updates.
And truth be told, that’s something you really need to know.
Luckily, it’s very easy to force Windows 11 to notify you when new updates are pending a restart. Just follow the steps below:
1 – Right-click the Start button, then select Settings from the menu.
2 – In the left-hand pane, click Windows Update.
3 – In the right-hand pane, click Advanced options.
5 – Toggle the “Notify me when a restart is required to finish updating” setting to On.
That’s all there is to it. From now on you’ll be notified ahead of time when your computer needs to restart in order to install Windows Updates.
