Today’s featured tech tip….
How to enable Low Power Mode on your MacBook
If you have a recent MacBook or MacBook Pro (early 2016 or later) that’s running macOS 12 Monterey, you can enable a special “Low Power Mode” that will make the machine’s battery charge last longer.
This can really come in handy if your MacBook’s battery has a habit of running out of juice before you have an opportunity to plug it into a charger.
Before we go any further, you need to know that while your MacBook is in Low Power Mode your screen will be dimmer than usual and your applications will run a little slower than normal.
With that out of the way, here’s how to set Low Power Mode to turn on when you want it to:
1 – Click the Apple icon in the top-left corner of the screen.
2 – Click System Settings.
3 – Click Battery in the left-hand pane.
4 – On the pop-up menu next to “Low Power Mode”, select one of the following:
Always
Only on Battery
Only on Power Adapter
That’s all there is to it. Your MacBook should either now be in Low Power Mode or go into Low Power Mode when the condition you selected is active.
